Our Next Evolution: Why We've Rebranded as MineOS

When I sat down with my co-founders Kobi Nissan and Gal Golan more than a half-decade ago, we were so excited to build Mine and bring real change to the internet. We had all grown up with a deep and abiding love of computers, but as the 1990s gave way to the 2000s and the 2000s to the 2010s, the internet had changed.

It was no longer the endlessly intriguing place of discovery we had come to love but a colder and more corporate place. Of course, I know there are innumerable reasons for that change, but a significant factor we identified was the shift in data’s perception as it became viewed as a cherished commodity.

At the time when Mine launched its B2C service, comprehensive data regulations were just beginning to gain traction as the EU’s GDPR had been published and was inching towards enforcement. People were catching up to the value of their data and the invasive business practices that had exploited that lack of knowledge.

Due to the joint pressures of public awareness and government regulations, companies would need to start treating data protection and governance as a business priority, but most did not know how to do so.

Kobi, Gal and I knew we had a solution. Our unique backgrounds, passion for a better internet, and experience building the Mine consumer product gave us insights and abilities no other data privacy software could match.

Fast forward several years, and we’re here today with a company offering consumer and business products that have resonated with hundreds of businesses and millions of people to make data privacy and governance matter to business initiatives, impacting every aspect of product development.

We consider those aspects as we shape and build our own platform because we aim to live out our values and make data privacy easier and more enjoyable for everyone to interact with. In doing so, we’ve been able to put together features and products that make the Mine platform unrivaled in the data privacy industry.

As we continue to grow and learn, we’ve found the platform itself expanding and adapting to data privacy, governance, and security challenges. The Mine team has built a set of tools that does more for data compliance than we could have imagined several years ago, which is why a brand evolution became a necessity.

With that, I’d like to formally announce that Mine PrivacyOps has changed its name to MineOS. Just like an operating system, it captures the total breadth of the product’s capabilities and experience.

MineOS is a recognition of that internal and external evolution without turning away from the trust and appreciation we’ve spent years building through diligent and unique product development, bringing unparalleled enterprise-grade data governance tools to businesses that care as deeply about customers and their data rights as we do. After the unwavering support and enthusiasm our customer base has shown us, it’s the least we can do.

Gal, Kobi, and I may be a touch older than we were, but our passion hasn’t dimmed, and we are so excited to go deeper into our plans for MineOS during our Founder webinar on Thursday, April 13, where we’ll be happy to take any questions you may have.

Keep an eye on our social channels for a registration link in the coming week, and be sure to join us with any questions you have on the future of MineOS.
