February 2023 MineOS Product Updates

Welcome to our monthly update on the latest data privacy features and improvements from Mine. We're thrilled to share with you the efforts our team has put in during February to ensure that your customers’ personal data remains protected and that the process is as effortless as possible.

We understand the importance of protecting personal data and the challenges that come with managing it effectively. That's why our team has been working tirelessly to ensure that Mine continues to be the world’s most comprehensive and user-friendly data privacy product.

Privacy Administration Accelerated, with MineOS

Part of our efforts in revolutionizing privacy is to think from the perspective of Data Privacy Officers, who have the hard job of coordinating the people and processes that touch customer data throughout their organizations.

The DPO will not always know who initiated any particular data source or service in the organization, or the purpose of the data source and how data is processed through it. This is crucial to understand for compliance reasons, because if labeled or incorporated incorrectly into the privacy program, it can risk compliance. For this reason, validating data sources and confirming their usage with the relevant employees is sometimes accomplished face-to-face.

To help DPOs be more certain about the details of data sources where necessary, they can now use our Teammate Feedback feature to easily request and gather feedback from individuals they work with - without leaving the platform, let alone getting up from their desk.

Find the Ask a Teammate button in Radar, when selecting a data source.

By implanting a teammate feedback flow within Radar, we’ve supplemented the context given by Mine’s AI capabilities, to help DPOs confirm the details about those data sources and processes they’re not intimately familiar with.

The DPO can now click on ‘Ask Teammate’ to request feedback about the data source from specific people: Usually the Power Users that Mine has identified and labeled already. In turn, the Power User teammate assigned to review the data source or process will receive an email, and be directed to the MineOS platform where they can leave comments for the DPO to address whenever they log back in.

With direct communication with your team embedded into Mine in addition to our contextual analysis, getting the full context needed to be precise with compliance enforcement is easier than ever.

Drill Down on DSRs by Handling Method

We’re excited to announce that we’ve added a new way to make sense of your organization’s privacy program: A tagging system for data sources that help you label and categorize sources based on how your company handles Data Subject Requests involving each one.

Now you can sort your data sources based on DSR handling method.

For example, you’re now able to easily filter and visualize the data sources for which DSRs are handled manually, for example, in order to see which are an opportunity for integration and automation.

Ensure API Connectivity

When setting up an integration with a data source, whether for precision in data classification or automatic DSR handling, it’s important to know that the connection is stable and healthy. Ideally that should happen before the integration begins, and that’s the purpose of a small but powerful feature we’ve added this month: API testing.

Testing your API connection can save a lot of headaches.

Now, even before you setup the API connection you’re able to test it to ensure everything is working or not. This helps prevent some frustration from happening when small errors might only be discovered on the initial connection - requiring the setup to be completed again and double checked. These annoyances are no more thanks to this new “quality of life” feature.

New Integrations: Freshdesk, Okta

In addition, we also have new integrations available this month with Freshdesk and Okta, expanding our library of services and apps that connect directly with our platform to enable automated compliance.
